This release has been long in the making… After I published sister-film Sophie online earlier this year, it is now time for its brother: Afùwàpẹ́:
Afùwàpẹ́ is confused.
After listening to philosopher Sophie Olúwọlé’s discovery,
he feels estranged from all he thinks he knows.
Dropped into a space out of context,
he needs to find his way again.
But not before connecting with his inner head…
This film contains adapted stories from the Ifá corpus. In this case I used translations by Prof. Wándé Abímbọ́lá. For official interpretations of these stories, please consult an officially trained Balawo or Iyaláwo.
