Evolving with plants at the Botanical Gardens in Utrecht
* Ferns have been existing for over 400 million years
Together with the department of Environmental sciences at Utrecht University I will be developing a mixed-media tour, and research installation for audience participation in the soon to be opened Evolution Garden section of the Botanical gardens in Utrecht.
It often seems as if plants are static and do nothing. Well, soon this will change…
With the tour we’ll uncover their unseen activity and walk you through the steps of evolution: from algae to moss to ferns and further upwards… How did plants develop new species with their new shapes and systems alongside past environmental changes?
Also, together with visitors we’ll be investigating whether talking to your plant actually helps them grow.
The link between the two?
Find out from May onward when we’ll officially open a new season at the Botanical Gardens!
